Company visit at Logitech
We had the pleasure of visiting Logitech in Lausanne as part of our company visit series, together with around 50 guests.
Together with our guests, we gained fascinating insights into a globally leading technology company best known for its innovative peripherals and gaming solutions. The visit offered a successful combination of strategic overview and interactive experiences.
At the outset, CEO Hanneke Faber presented the company’s current development and strategic direction in the areas of the future workplace and gaming, with a particular focus on innovation and design. Special emphasis was placed on Logitech’s highly successful integration within the immediate vicinity of the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) campus — a significant talent pool for Switzerland’s top engineering, AI, and data science professionals. Logitech alone employs around 50 interns in Lausanne, the majority of whom study at EPFL. The close proximity to the university provides the company with a considerable competitive advantage, both in terms of innovation and in the ongoing “war for talent.” In addition, according to Forbes’ “World’s Best Employers” ranking, Logitech is considered one of the most attractive employers worldwide.
This was followed by a tour of the mouse development and testing facilities, offering an impressive behind-the-scenes look at the product development process. The engineers demonstrated proprietary testing systems live in operation. Visitors were highly impressed by the precision and the realistic conditions under which devices are tested and optimized. Logitech deliberately leverages artificial intelligence as a driver of innovation to further develop existing product portfolios and open up new markets. One example is the PRO X2 Superstrike gaming mouse.
A particular highlight was the interactive gaming segment, where our guests became actively involved themselves: in an entertaining racing competition, the “Boomers” generation competed against the “NextGen” — with a clear victory for the NextGen.
With a corporate history spanning 45 years, Logitech already belongs to the “old guard” among technology and hardware companies. Nevertheless, despite its size and maturity, the company continues to impress with its strong innovative capabilities and remarkable adaptability. Market trends in gaming, ergonomic requirements, and user design preferences are meticulously analyzed and consistently integrated into product development. At the same time, Logitech continuously benchmarks the performance of its products against competitors.
